How we define"Survivalism":
using what is available to aid self preservation using prior experience, wits, knowledge, wisdom, and your body.

The Pennsylvania Survival Initiative is a volunteer group of people who collectively put together classes on survival subjects and teach them at locations in the outdoors every two weeks. There are no fees or charges for attending or participating and we welcome anyone with a desire for learning survival skills.
The Pennsylvania Survival Initiative was started by people with Conservative views, Christian values and an understanding that learning survival skills could be an effective way to preserve lives. We're always looking for people with special skills relating to survival (not just primitive) and individuals highly motivated by the desire to learn.

  • 2011-10-20 Group/Admin Affairs Announcement Hello Everyone,I have a few things to update everyone about in regards to the group. The first and most important update is concerning how often we meet and some things regarding admin affairs with the group. When we last met on 10-16-11 we discussed about how the group was administered. For the time being we felt it was best for us to meet once a month as a group and once a month to do admin affairs/lesson planning ect. So in other words for people participating in admin meetings, you'll still be meeting every two weeks. Everyone else at sundays meet agreed, and at least one person felt it wasn't fair that I was ...

  • Next Meeting: October 2, 2011 Its the usual time and place: 1pm (or earlier if you want to come out before then) at the Sugarcreek Park in Cowansville back at the Scout Pavilion.Expect to practice your pyromani-I mean fire making skills as usual.I noticed a few people at our last meet were wearing shorts or short sleeved shirts.  Guys, even the boys in Iraq and Afghanistan wear long sleeved shirts and pants; there's good reason for this.  Those pants and/or long sleeved shirts serve so many protective purposes its unreal.  Wolf Spiders are extremely common in Pennsylvania, I regularly see ones the size of half dollars around here.  The bigger they are, the more potent their venom is which can ...
